This page describes email contact, visit measurement and connections to external services on melt.games.
Who we are
MELT is an indie video game studio. This site is our showcase and contact point.
Email contact
The site does not have a contact form. Email links open the email application associated with your browser or device. If you send a message, MELT receives your address, message and any information you include through email services.
Visit measurement
Our own measurement script sends the site name, a random session identifier, event type, visited path, entry referrer provided by the browser, time zone and browser language to a function hosted on Supabase. It records page views, activity signals every 15 seconds while the tab is visible, events when it becomes hidden, and clicks on Steam and Discord links. For those clicks, it includes up to 300 characters of the destination link.
Browser storage
The measurement script uses sessionStorage to keep the identifier during the tab session and does not create cookies. The information notice uses localStorage to remember that you dismissed it, without a programmed expiry. Dismissing the notice does not enable or disable measurement. Each page's language is determined by its URL; the site does not save a browser language preference.
Connections and providers
Your browser connects to the website host and the measurement endpoint on Supabase. Network requests expose connection data, such as your IP address, to the receiving servers. The lifetime of the identifier in the tab does not determine how long servers retain their data or logs.
Fonts, videos and external links
Google Fonts is requested when the site loads. The YouTube player loads when you open a trailer and may use cookies or other storage according to its policies and your settings. Game screenshots load from Steam servers. Following links to Steam, Discord or social networks takes you to those providers' services.
